To Traci...
I met Traci back in 1994. At that time, I was living in Hollywood, had a job on Hollywood Blvd. Traci used to live on Wilcox, I used to see him every day, when he was on his way to get food for his lunch, he always asked me if I needed something. Didn't have alot of money, and Traci brought me food quite a few times. At that time, Traci was in Heart Throb Mob, "Hit List" was already released. One night, Lonnie from HTM came to my appartment on Yucca with a bass, proposed me to join HTM as a bassist, wanted me to dye my hair black; I declined since I was already thinking about starting UNDERCOVER SLUT in L.A. Most week-ends, I hung out with Traci in Van Nuys at that Hanky Panky/Revolution Hazy warehouse with all that L.A. Glam/Punk community. Those parties were fun! Saw Traci play the Roxy w/HTM. Great show! Finally came back to Paris and formed UCS the following year, then came back and forth every single year to this day. I always kept in touch with Traci, saw him form Candy Apple Queens, Glamvestite Vampirez and of course Peppermint Creeps. Traci was an excellent drummer, 'A' class drummer in my book, a very passionate person with an extremely positive attitude. Never heard him saying bad things about someone. I remember going to Kinko's on Sunset with him and Bianca, helping him making flyers for his shows. I remember both of us applying make-up together in different hotel rooms. I remember lunchs, dinners with him. Rainbow, R'N'R Dennys, AM/PM, El Compadre, etcetera... I remember his low voice, very low voice. I remember him laughing! I remember those Glam Rock nights at the Teaszer with Rebel Rebel, Revlon Red, Spiders & Snakes, etc... I remember going to Club Make Up with him. I used to trade Glam stuff with him, bringing him CD's from European Glam bands and him giving me US Glam Rock. Traci knew alot about Glam Rock, he loved Glam as much as I do. We both grew up on a diet of Mötley Crüe/Hanoi Rocks and were collecting everything we could on Glam. Traci didn't give a fuck about trends! He was 100% integrity, hardcore Glam image & attitude. Traci opted for the bubblegum Glam/Visuel Key vibe, while I chosed the Shock Rock side. I always had alot of respect for what he was doing. A couple years ago, we were supposed to play with the Creeps in NYC, it didn't happen unfortunately. Last year, a show in Vegas was planned, didn't happen either. Finally we played the Inland Empire w/the Creeps last fall. I was very happy to finally play a show w/Traci's band after all those years. After that show, some asshole tried to rape Fake in the club's restrooms, I remember Traci ready to fight. I also remember that early morning breakfast with Traci, Fake, Lexa & Jasmine on our way back to Hollywood. As always, Traci was fun to be around. Last time I saw him was in Paris last January, Drag booked them a show at some club, we all went to the Eurostar station to meet them, went to a Subway, Traci was so happy to be in Europe, his first time here. I was so happy for him too. Met all of 'em the day after at the Eiffel Tower, took some pictures, then went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. Divine, Drag, Marlene O and some close friends were there. Traci was sitting next to me, we talked about this and that, had a good time that night. Then we all left, said goodbye to eachother on a subway station. Everything seemed cool! Of course, I didn't know it was the last time I would see him. Then a few days later, I heard they were all deported from the U.K. for not having appropriate visas for their British tour. I was fuckin' pissed off and sad for 'em all, knowing all their hard work and expectations for that tour. Anyways, weeks went by, and then I heard they were going on another U.S. Tour, that last one. Was happy to hear it, not surprised though, knowing how much dedication and drive Traci had for his band. We opened for The Damned in Paris last friday night, sold-out show, few minor problems, but finally ended up as a killer show. Went back home early saturday morning, checked my e-mails and discovered the sad news, my friend Traci was dead! I couldn't believe it, then I realized it wasn't a bad dream, was fuckin' shocked, couldn't cry at first, then cried last night, and quite alot earlier today! Traci, I will never forget you, I believe in Karma, I strongly do, and I believe you deserve way better next life... R.I.P. Traci.
