Interview with "O" of UNDERCOVER SLUT
UNDERCOVER SLUT is a unique breed of punk glam and industrial rock. Apparently famous in France, UNDERCOVER SLUT has accomplished alot in their home nation and made their mark in the world. I had a chance to interview founding member "O" about the band.
Prophecies Webzine: For those unaware of your existence, what is the history of UNDERCOVER SLUT and which band member am I interviewing?
"O": ‘O’ here, talking to you, sitting home on a sunny sunday afternoon in that fuckin’ gay Paris ghetto, sipping strong black coffee while listening to some very loud white trash noise and answering your questions. I’ve conceived UNDERCOVER SLUT before Y2K, released tonsa propaganda recordings, been exposed to major medias + sold thousands & thousands of CD’s worldwide, toured the U.S. of Amerikkka 4 years in a row, sold-out shows in Paris, had videos exposed on MTV & other major cable TV channels in Europe & in the States. And here I am in November 2006 with a killer revamped line-up, consisting of ScarS on lead & rhythm guitars, Drag on bass guitar & Fake on drums.
Prophecies: What made you decide to incorporate a mix of industrial and punk sounds?
"O": Voices inside my head told me to.
Prophecies: Can you tell us about all your albums so far and how each differs from the other?
"O": Next one is always better than previous one, and so on… Same shit with line-ups.
Prophecies: Has there been any line-up changes since your existence?
"O": Tons! Revolving doors line-ups fuckin’ rule! Like girlfriends, band members come & go, it’s no big deal really! Shit happens! Sometimes they get fired, sometimes they just leave! Who gives a fuck if what’s his name is still in UNDERCOVER SLUT or not, as long as I still spread & cure my own fuckin’ disease!
Prophecies: Your lyrics are of a punk nature. What kind of hatred does UNDERCOVER SLUT harness and release to the world?
"O": Hatred from the streets!
Prophecies: Your image is punk glam. I don't know the situation in Paris with that type of music so how famous are you guys?
"O": UNDERCOVER SLUT has been featured in every single music magazine in France, I, myself, have been interviewed on national TV in front of millions of people, sold-out shows here and there, are as much loved as much as hated by tonsa people.
Prophecies: You're signed to Offensive Records. Are they a major or small label in France?
"O":Offensive Records is my own fuckin’ thing. Major in my view point since it allows me complete control on everything I do and touch, and foremost absolutely no fuckin’ censorship whatsoever.
Prophecies: In 2003 you did your first American Tour and another in 2004. How was the reaction from your American audience?
"O": Sometimes real killer reaction from the audience, sometimes very negative! It depends where and how.
Prophecies: What are some of UNDERCOVER SLUT's influences towards your music?
"O": I adore his "Kampf" as much as I adore their "Communist Manifesto"! I love mondo & snuff movies, enjoy hardcore porn movies, have a soft spot for clown porn, really dig psychology, gangsta rap, early glam/punk rock, find that "scientology versus psychiatry" thing amazing, am obsessed with weapons, violence & sex as long as it is real dirty and does not involve animals and kids.
Prophecies: All I know of from the music scene in France is that of black metal. These bands have made a rebellious impact on the underground themselves. How does the French media observe you?
"O": I totally dislike black metal. To me, satan, the devil, the number 666, lucifer are the same kinda bullshit lies than any kinda bogus god, invented by some assholes in order to control and corrupt your own fuckin’ ass.
Prophecies: Are you currently satisfied with your record label or do you have much greater ambitions to spread your messages? A new world order perhaps?
"O": Most record labels are evil! Never forget they’re responsible for Elvis’ death! Let’s all sit back, relax and enjoy the fall of the music industry as it already started.
Prophecies: "Communism Is Fascism" seems to be your magnus opus. How has the reaction been around the world with this album?
"O": To this date, our magnus opus is not available yet!
Prophecies: What does UNDERCOVER SLUT fight for? Animal rights, anarchy, more?
"O": Animal rights! Rights for those that don’t speak! Rights for those who don’t lie! Rights for those who don’t cheat! Rights for those who don’t get on my fuckin’ nerves too!
Prophecies: Is UNDERCOVER SLUT currently getting ready for any live performances?
"O": Fuck yeah! UNDERCOVER SLUT will be performing live in London at Bar Monsta, at that Glammed Out thing (located at 18 Kentish Town Road, Camden, London NW1. Opposite Camden Town tube station, Northern line) on Saturday, December 23rd 2006. Doors will be opening at 8:00 P.M. sharp, UCS White Whore era anarchy & chaos will start around 10:00 P.M. Prophecies: Can we expect a new album?
"O": Of course, you can! Real busy working on that. That motherfucker should be out sometime in 2007.
Prophecies: Why the hell did you choose the band name, UNDERCOVER SLUT?
"O": Simply because UNDERCOVER SLUT fuckin’ rules! It’s a really appropriate name for my kinda anger & attitude.
Prophecies: Obviously I would think you're not afraid to speak your mind. To conclude this interview, release all your anger here.
