Politics and religions are the worst diseases on planet earth ! Individualism is liberty, & they're all about conformism, which is like a psychic straight jacket ! We are all blindfolded and that's why we need to react... Being yourself is the first step..." Welcome to the world of UNDERCOVER SLUT, a musically brutal, visually flamboyant industrial/goth outfit hailing from 'Pervert Paris - Fucked up France'. The line-up is completed by the charmingly monikered Kunt and Lame on guitar, Mace on drums and 96 on bass ('it's a better position than 69 - the other whores don't wanna explain their names') Of his own pseudonym, employed to 'protect our innocence', 'O' says, 'It's a great vowel, it could stand for a lot of pleasant words such as 'Orgasm', 'Oral', 'Orgy', 'Overdose', 'Offensive','Outrage', ...' You get the general idea, we're a long way from the Eiffel Tower and school French classes here. UNDERCOVER SLUT deal in dirty, misanthropic anthems, explosive cross-dressing live shows, thrive on sex, drugs 'n' rock'n'roll cliché and despise French people in general. The 'SLUT's music deals with 'My personal observation of today's society, which directly leads me to disgust, anger and hate. Living in fucked-up France is a great source of inspiration to me. Absurdity is everywhere ! Our president is a son of a bitch, & its Government is a whore assembly. Those fuckers should be tortured, raped and killed.' He also adds thoughtfully 'It'd make a great snuff movie'. Considering the heavily gothic leaning in UCS's music 'O' lists some surprising heroes from his childhood, punk icon Sid Vicious 'for his self destruction' and tragic glam legend Johnny Thunders 'for his image during the DOLLS' days'. He continues 'True heroes must be dead. The 'alive' ones just aren't the real thing yet'. So how far have Thunders and Vicious influenced 'O' with UNDERCOVER SLUT ? 'As for influences, I've always tried to be myself and no one else. I don't think cloning somebody is respecting him.'

France seems an unlikely home for such a band, in talking about his native city 'O' explains 'Pervert Paris is pretty, a great looking city, architecture is awesome ; bloody history... The people living here is another thing ! Psychotic Paris is full of losers & fuckers". So what did the French ever do to UNDERCOVER SLUT ? "On the one side you have the 'morons society which consists of 'brain washed TV addicted mother fuckers', the 'politically correct' low-life robots who are constantly emotionally raped by fashion, different kinds of fashion, clothing, vocabulary, way of thinking, attitude... And on the other side you've got the 'colonialism trash'. Dangerous fuckers when numerous ! They hate you 'cause your skin is a different colour ! They hate you even more when you're an outcast looking like you don't belong to that 'moron society'. I've been fuckin'beaten up since I was 9 just for looking different. My highschool and college years were a nightmare at that time. Between that shit, you have a very few individualists who are themselves trying to 'survive' in that sordid society'. In a more positive nod to France's historic capital he describes gleefully UCS's last show in 'Psychotic Paris'. 'It was blast ! Unbelievable, fuckin' unbelievable ! The crowd was fuckin' crazy ! Violent, out-of-control mosh-pit ! Injured people ! Fights ! Pure expression of chaos é disorder from Pervert Paris youth ! I'll never forget that night !"

Recently however UCS have begun to spread the sickness a little further afield. A string of features in Kerrang!'s Scumscene, which gathered a healthy response from the British alternative scene, and a brief trip to the US have afforded them some recognition across the Cjannel, and for that matter, across the Atlantic. Of the response to UCS in the States 'O' feels its difficult to say. 'The Amerikkkan Kulture is to the European one. So I guess thei perception of UCS is different. We receive a lot of snail mail/e-mails from both countries, the reaction is very positive & supportive so far'. The 'SLUT have planned a quick stint around clubs in America this August, before hopefully coming to the UK's toilet venues in Autumn. 'O' muses on the impeding US live shows saying 'We haven't played in Amerikkka yet, so we don't know what their reaction will be... Only the future will tell us...'

With song titles like 'My HIV Beauty Queen', a press kit that comes complete with razor blade and hypodermic needle, an album they proudly announced was recorded in 'a gay Paris crackhouse' and a video which features 'O' snorting coke from the 'SLUT's Scumscene feature you'd be forgiven for thinking UCS were a little drug obsessed - how much do drugs really influence UCS's music ? 'All kinds of drugs should be legalised everywhere on planet earth', 'O' states boldly. 'People should be able to decide whether to do drugs or not. It's like the 'suicide taboo topic', if someone wants to kill himself, its his own right ! The message is do what you want and don't take shit from anybody. Your body and your life belongs to you and no-one else'. Amen to that. 'O' is a little more quiet when asked about his own drug of choice, 'I don't wanna answer that question' he says, 'I don't wanna influence anybody. in my addicti

Before finishing this interview I decide to test UCS's rock'n'roll credentials a little further, with interesting results, the questions go a lot like this... If you had to chose one, which would it be...
